Rookie Camp
A fascinating introduction into the world of Sports Broadcasting. Get ready for an unforgettable week of insight, knowledge and fun. Read from a Teleprompter, do an interview with a former pro athlete or current broadcaster, make several presentations with your individual team, call the play-by-play of a Mets game at Citi Field and take a road trip to MetLife Stadium. Learn from multiple Emmy award winner Bruce Beck and his special guest lecturers, including top sportscasters and personalities in the New York Metropolitan Area. This camp will teach you all the nuances of the industry. Taught by Bruce Beck, Lead Sports Anchor - NBC 4 New York.
Ages: 13 and up!
Veteran Camp*
A young Sports Broadcaster’s dream. Write and deliver a sports commentary, call the play-by-play off a monitor of a recent Knicks game, do a studio debate and opinion show with another camper, host a podcast episode, prepare and deliver breaking news stories. Taught by Bruce Beck and former MSG Network Sportscaster, Mike Quick of ESPN NY 98.7 FM.
*To attend the "Veteran Camp," one (1) year of Bruce Beck Sports Broadcasting Camp is required.
